Concerns

This post is about what you should do if you think someone you know is in danger of being harmed, physically or emotionally.

The best thing for you to do is talk to the person if they are a close friend of yours or even just a person in your class. Find out as much as you can without seeming rude or upsetting the person. Then once you know something about what's going on, let a teacher or parent know. They will generally take it from there, either contacting 'kids helpline' or another kids help group.

If the person has told you not to tell an adult or teacher, the best thing for you to probably do is to call  'kids helpline' yourself or visit their website. The other option is to just tell an adult anyway even though they told you not to. Only do this though if you think they are in immediate danger.

Sometimes it can be hard to go against your friend's wishes but if they are in danger of being harmed or injured it is always best to follow your heart and do what you think is right.

I hope this helps you,

Saraya xxx
